Sam Levinson and The Weeknd team up to work on HBO series

Hollywood icon The Weeknd is going to team up with the creators of the popular HBO drama series Euphoria. Sam Levinson who is the creator of the show will be collaborating with the pop icon to create a series called The Idol.

The Weeknd feature and co-write HBO drama series with Sam Levinson

The Weeknd was recently seen in an episode of the animated series American Dad last year. He also played a fictionalized version of himself in the 2019 movie Uncut Gems. Now he is preparing for a bigger role in an upcoming HBO series and will also co-write it. According to some reports, the show has been tentatively named The Idol.

According to a report by Variety, the show will be about a female pop singer starting a romance with the owner of a LA Club. He is also a leader of a secret cult. The Weeknd is also likely to join as a producer along with Levinson. His fans are really excited to hear this news. Talking about his credits as a writer the singer has written one episode of American Dad which also had a spoof song called "I'm a virgin". He also co-wrote with Asa Taccone.

With Levinson coming on board the project it is a highly anticipated show. The euphoria did not receive a lot of appreciation from the critics but Zendaya did win words for her performance as Rue. Talking about recent work, Weeknd was last seen in a music video with Doja Cat called You Right. He also won many accolades at Billboards Music Awards this year.
