As promos of 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2' tease television buffs, a lot of fans miss Shweta Tiwari who was known for her role as the lead female protagonist in the first version of the show that was telecast from 2001 to 2008.
After earning a lot of fame as 'Prerna' in 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', Shweta Tiwari had been a blast in the industry. Speaking on the sidelines of her upcoming play titled 'Jab We Separated', the actor confirmed that her daughter Palak was offered the title role in 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2'.
My Gorgeous Baby?????? For the past few months i was constantly bombarded with questions regarding quickie, and palak’s debut. We really wanted quickie to be the way to go but the process was too protracted and Palak’s 12th grade has now begun. Therefore we decided it would be best if we retracted ourselves from the project since Palak’s education is of Paramount importance at this point in time. We wish Oddball the very best, but sadly we had to come to this decision. However i assure you, Palak’s debut is soon enough.
Talking about whether she would've asked her daughter to take the role, Shweta answered, “Yes, I would have told her to go ahead and do it. In fact, everybody was saying, even from Balaji (production house) that she should do it. It was she who said ‘No Mom, I don’t think I can do a daily soap and work day in and day out. I cannot do that at this point in time’. And not only Kasautii, many other television shows were offered to her, she said no to every show. She said ‘Right now I don’t want to do it. Even if I have to do it, then I’ll do it later’.”
Apart from television, theatre, too, beckons her 17-year-old daughter. Shweta added, “Rahul [Bhuchar, the producer, and co-actor in her upcoming play] was telling her to perform the role of my daughter in the play. But she said she just doesn’t want to divert herself from class 12th studies; otherwise she would have done it.”
The 37-year-old actor was last seen on small screen in TV show Begusarai.
