Everyone is aware of the recent times when Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of Horn OK Pleasss. This led to a chain reaction wherein many victims started openly accusing the harassers. #MeToo became a powerful movement that empowered many women.
Talking about this empowering time, Kalki Koechlin said "It’s an empowering time for women. It’s been about a year since it began in Hollywood, and I don’t think anyone, including myself, expected it to blow up so suddenly. And we have seen results. People have resigned, people are being investigated in workplaces, new rules are being set up, facilitating processes for women to lodge complaints-so much has happened and it’s only been three weeks. All of it is very encouraging”.
"We’ve had a meeting with the Producers Guild of India, where we talked about what procedures will they be implementing to make the space safer for women. We also met with the head of CINTAA (Cine & TV Artists Association), Sushant Singh, and it was a great way to pull the industry together and figure a way out. So it might not be splashed in the media or on social-media space, but things are changing," added Kalki while commenting on things changing in Bollywood.
