Not long ago we heard the news of designer Anita Dongre providing masks to hospitals and rural artisans. These times have witnessed people being locked up in their homes while animals roam the streets freely.
When the world is turning upside down, we need every bit of help we can get. Fashion designers have come to country’s aid during coronavirus pandemic. Now Neena Gupta’s daughter and owner of fashion label ‘ House of Masaba’, Masaba Gupta have decided to help in making masks available to the general population.

Changing gears for some time In the wake of the current pandemic & lockdown across the country, all operations at the House of Masaba came to a halt. While the damage that this will do is immeasurable at this point, my hope is to keep my chin up by doing my bit to help my country instead-in this time. We have started the production of non-surgical masks for donation at a production facility keeping all hygiene & safety standards in mind. These masks are washable & reusable. - the Masks are being made from fabric that was meant for garments, at one of our production vendors. The team is small- with 3 workers who live at this same facility in quarantine & we are making sure the workers are being paid, and are taken care of. #MasKaba #HouseofMasaba #Masks #Covid #Covid19 #StayAtHome #InThisTogether
On her Instagram handle, Masaba shared that these colorful masks are being at one of their production vendors by three workers. She assures that all safety standards are being followed in the production of masks. She wrote, “Changing gears for some time In the wake of the current pandemic and lockdown across the country, all operations at the House of Masaba came to a halt.

What makes these masks different is that they look like they have been made by a designer’s team; they are colorful with printed patterns, washable and reusable. The reusable feature is a well thought point as it will maintain cost efficiency and will be affordable for everyone.
The workers are being looked after and they are being paid for their services. They will be making these masks in a quarantine facility. This is a wonderful initiative by the top designer who and it has been appreciated by the social media community.
