What is Article 15 movie about?
In the past Bollywood movies have depicted many social issues in movies and Article 15 seems to be a similar attempt. Anubhav Sinha has raised the issue of caste-based discrimination in rural India in his next Bollywood movie Article 15. The movie is based in Uttar Pradesh and Ayushmann dawns the role of a Brahmin Police Officer transferred recently. Unaware of the ongoing social injustice, he is shocked to find how prevalent caste discrimination is in rural India. The movie Article 15 is said to be inspired by true events in the state and the movie gets its name from Article 15 of the constitution.

Article 15 of the Indian Constitution states that the state can’t discriminate against any citizen on the basis of caste, creed, sex, race or religion. It prohibits the state from the oppression of unprivileged communities. This is considered to safeguard against caste-based or gender-based discrimination.
