In a recent interview with The Times of India, Salman Khan revealed the reason behind his ’no-kissing on-screen’ rule. One has always wondered why the actor has maintained this norm throughout his career and Salman finally revealed as to why he did so.

Salman continues to adhere to this rule and has always focussed more on family-friendly movies. Sallu stated that according to him, sex or skin cannot sell a film.
Salman recalled an incident which took place in his family home where his entire family was watching an English film. In a scene, when the co-stars kissed, the Khan-daan turned their heads so as to avoid seeing the scene and it was an awkward situation for everyone watching the film. Once, the kissing scene stopped, the family continued watching the film. "That’s why I feel, you don’t need such stuff in a film. You don’t need these gimmicks to make the film work," Salman quipped.
The actor added, "I’m not saying these gimmicks don’t work in favor of films, I’m just saying they’re not a necessity in cinema. In my first film, when Sooraj Barjatya was directing me, I remember I had to apply a balm on Bhagyashree’s feet and I did that while shutting my eyes. I don’t think sex or skin can sell a film. That’s not my way of making movies."
