Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt to Reunite for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Baiju Bawra’ ?

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt all set to work together

It is being said around the town that Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt have been roped in for playing the leads in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra. Mr. Bhansali announced the project last year.

In the original movie Bharat Bhushan and Meena Kumari played the leads and the Gully Boy duo will portray their characters on the big screen. We all know how Murad and Safeena made a place in the audience’s hearts with their chemistry. Ranveer and Alia will also come together for Karan Johar’s most ambitious project ‘Takht’.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali to remake 1952 Baiju Bawra:

Baiju Bawra’s premise is set in Mughal India and essays the story of Baiju who is one of the ‘Navratnas’- nine jewels in Emperor Akbar’s court. The 1952 movie tells you how Baiju challenges Tansen for a duel in order to avenge his father’s death for which he blames Tansen.

Alia will be seen in Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ where she plays the titular role of a sex worker and underworld criminal. The movie is set to release on 11 September 2020.

Bhatt has also been working on Ayan Mukerji directed ‘Brahmastra’ with Ranbir Kapoor. She has been roped in for Telugu movie RRR alongside Ram Charan and N.T. Rama Rao Jr. Also, Sadak2 opposite Aditya Roy Kapur is in works, it is a sequel to Mahesh Bhatt’s 1991 ‘Sadak’.

On the other hand, Ranveer has a series of movies lined up and to be prepared for; these include ’83 directed by Kabir Khan where he plays the legendary cricket player Kapil Dev, ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ where he is a Gujarati businessman and ‘Sooryavanshi’ which has been postponed due to COIVD-19 outbreak.

The makers of Baiju Bawra are yet to give a word on the same but if this duo gets back, the audience will surely be excited.
