Madhu Mantena and Deepika Padukone are collaborating to show Mahabharata from Draupadi's point of view

Deepika Padukone is working on different projects including the remake of the Hollywood movie The Intern, I love story with Ananya Pandey and Siddhant Chaturvedi, Pathan with SRK, Fighter with Hrithik Roshan and many more.

Deepika and Madhu Mantena are working hard to bring Draupadi's story to the screen

In a conversation producer, Madhu Mantena said that he is working on the ambitious project of telling Mahabharata from Draupadi's point of view. He says that such projects take time and he and DP are not working on it for the sake of it but they believe that it is a story that needs to be told.

The producer mentioned that the project about Draupadi will start after Ramayana. The latter features Deepika as Sita, Mahesh Babu as Ram and Hrithik Roshan as Ravana.
If everything goes well Deepika will end up playing the most prominent, empowered and controversial female figures rooted in Indian mythology.

Work on Deepika Padukone starrer Draupadi story will start after Ramayana

The producer said to Pinkvilla that a lot of research goes on behind making such projects and they want to do it right. Mantena also said that an official announcement about the cast will be made around Diwali. These are ambitious projects and the makers want to bring something never seen before to the screen.

To bring a character like Draupadi to the screen is not simple, the makers are engaging in thorough research. This becomes more important especially when the government is considering imposing restrictions and regulations on content. The authorities are considering obtaining powers that will allow them to make cuts and change narratives that don't fit their definition of right even after cuts and certification from CBFC.
