Director Meghna Gulzar’s film, Chhapaak was all in the headlines ever since its trailer got released. After a long wait finally, the movie got released today and its story has touched everyone’s heart.

Deepika’s outstanding acting as an acid attack victim is surely inspiring and, will leave you teary-eyed.
The director has portrayed the story of real-life acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal in the film. In the film, she becomes Malti (played by Deepika Padukone) whose life changes forever one day when acid is thrown on her face.

The movie does not have unnecessary drama in it as it is quite realistic and relatable to all the women who suffer in our society. Deepika is one of the most gorgeous actresses and, seeing her in this appearance was quite shocking but surely it is appreciable. In some of the climactic scenes, the movie shows Malti’s face which she had before her acid attack which gives the audience a direct emotional hit.

Apart from Deepika, even Vikrant Massey’s role as Amol is worth appreciating. Hindi TV star, the sturdy Dev from Lootera (2013) and the loveable, Shutu from A Death In The Gunj (2017) is completely transformed in Chhapaak and, is looking just too hot.

The film does have its positives. Such as its unobtrusive background score by Shankar Ehsaan Loy and Tubby, and a gentle title track by SEL. Amusing heart-warming conversation between two survivors about the kind of face that they want post-surgery. The best scenes among all the shots is the one in which, Malti has a face-off with Amol. The dialogues and actions of both the actors are flawless in this scene.
