Akshay Kumar awarded for his film ‘Padman’ at 66th National Film Awards

The most prestigious award function of the film fraternity took place today in Delhi. B-Town stars including Akshay Kumar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Vicky Kaushal and many more were present at the ceremony.
Among them, the Khiladi No 1 received the award for Padman as the ‘best social film.’ The movie got released in February last year and, it featured Akshay, Sonam K Ahuja, and Radhika Apte.

Akshay Kumar is currently one of the most popular actors who is taking up all the projects that are directly linked to social causes or have an emotional hit with the fans. Earlier also, he did movies like Toilet and, Mission Mangal which were also real-life based and, won many people’s hearts.

Along with Akshay, Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal were jointly awarded the best actor award for their roles in Andhadhun and Uri. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu presented the 66th National Film Awards at the ceremony. All the actors looked dapper in formal attires at the function and, also were blessed to get this honor.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said that films are a powerful medium of communication and the film industry should give importance to films related to social issues. Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar disclosed that the Dadasaheb Phalke Award will be given to Amitabh Bachchan on 29th December at Rashtrapati Bhavan as he could not attend the event due to his illness.
