The couple met in 2011, got married in 2015, but their wedding bliss soon fell apart. It was one of the most heartbreaking celebrity couple splits of 2018.

In a public statement, Jennifer and Justin announced their amicable parting of ways. A part of the statement read, "In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year." They added, "We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship."

In a recent interaction with the New York Times, Justin got candid about his ex-wife and addressed the speculations of why Jennifer and he split, which ranges from Justin being too edgy for the F.R.I.E.N.D.S star to the actress's ex-husband Brad Pitt. Justin revealed that he never spent too much time dwelling on the rumors.

Talking about the split in detail, Justin shared, "It was heartbreaking, only in the sense that the friendship would not be the same, as far as just the day to day. But the friendship is shifting and changing, you know, so that part is something that we’re both very proud of."

"The good news is that was probably the most — I’m choosing my words really carefully — it was kind of the most gentle separation, in that there was no animosity. In a weird way, just sort of navigating the inevitable perception of it is the exhausting part," he added.
