ABC apologizes after online backlash for Hindu terror plot in Quantico

ABC, a US television studio had to apologize to its Indian fanbase as in its trending crime drama show 'Quantico', the plot suddenly changed towards Hindu Terrorism.
The episode which was aired recently consisted of certain events where Indian Nationalists tried to frame Pakistan on accounts of terrorism. This plot soon sparked an online outrage against the Indian actress, Priyanka Chopra who plays a lead role in the TV series.

In a statement, Walt Disney's owned ABC said, “The episode has stirred a lot of emotion, much of which is unfairly aimed at Priyanka Chopra, who didn't create the show, nor does she write or direct it.” Priyanka Chopra, 35, is a well revered Bollywood actress in India, and she is admired by people across the globe for her ability to achieve success in Hollywood as well. Such a crossover is very rare for Indian actors.
ABC also said, “The show has featured antagonists of many different ethnicities and backgrounds, but in this case we inadvertently and regrettably stepped into a complex political issue. It was certainly not our intention to offend anyone.”

David Frawley is a Hindu scholar who is currently based in United States, tweeted, “The myth of Hindu terror, by a fake story, enters American television with the help of Priyanka Chopra. Would any Pakistani actress betray Pakistan or Islam the way she betrays India and Hinduism?”
In recent years, movies, shows, and popular cultures have been under attack by Hindu Nationalists in India. 'Padmaavat' is one of the exclusive examples for the same.
