Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 Review - Design, Display and Camera

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 came in the market in December 2018 with Android 8.1 OS. It is an upgrade of Asus to stand in the mid-segment Indian smartphone market. Let’s see how much this phone is capable.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 Design
The Zenfone Max Pro M2 looks pretty much better than Zenfone Max Pro M1. It has a metal body that is intelligently designed to resemble as glass at first look. The metal body is a good approach but it is not scratch resistant. The front of the phone is protected with Gorilla Glass 6 which is something new as most phones in this segment do not have this version of gorilla glass. Apart from these notes, there is not much to the detail of the exterior.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 Display
The 6.26-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2280 at 400 ppi) display of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 is brighter and livelier than before. The phone has not got anything superior on display point of view but it is also not bad. You can expect good daylight legibility and colours but a little washout. The longer glaring to the display does not strain the eyes.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 Hardware
The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 Smartphone is fueled by 2.2 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Processor. The basic version comes with (4 GB +32 GB) of storage capacity and Adreno 512 graphic card that lets the phone run most games without any lag or slack. The memory can be extended by 512 GB using a microSD card.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 Performance
The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 competes for a shoulder to shoulder with other mid-range smartphones due to its 660 Qualcomm processor. The phone feels smooth in the day to day tasks and not a single moment, you would have to worry about.

PubG Mobile also runs smoothly with medium settings. The notch space is zipped up by limiting the scaling of a display at the line of a notch. The single speaker of the phone works fine and produces high sound output with NXP SmartAmp feature.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 Camera
Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 is equipped with 12 + 5 megapixel back and 13 megapixels front Camera. It additionally underpins Face Detection and High Definition Rendering(HDR).
The camera of Zenfone Max Pro M2 takes photographs that look wonderful. The green and the blue turn out extremely decent and lively while brilliant hues like yellow and red are soaked. There's no AI attempting to perceive scenes which are quite satisfying. The photographs look more real and the dynamic range is far superior than other smartphones like Honor 8X.

While indoors, it requires a stable focus to capture clean images. It turns out you would get only average pics during low-light photography.

But, it also should be quoted that the phone is not branded as the camera phone. It is a good mixture of all the good features and so does a good job in the camera segment. You get all the popular features in the camera app and if you are not a huge fan of the camera then you will be quite fine with the camera performance.Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 Review

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 Battery Life
The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 battery is a beast, with ground-breaking 5000 mAh. The huge battery can promise you a couple of days of backup if you are a regular user. The extensive gaming, however, will drain deplete the battery a bit faster. But if you just watch some videos on Youtube, browse social media, do some petty works in the phone, clicks some pics, dials some calls, then you can expect the battery life of Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 more than a day.

The only disappointment with Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 battery is that it does not come with fast charging feature and so such a huge battery takes a stock of time to charge.

Whether to Buy Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 or Not?
The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 is a stunningly better endeavor by Asus for mid-range segment. It has all the good features, if not the best. The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 can reliably be considered as a strong contender in the mid-range smartphone market in India.
