She starred in Susi Ganesan's Thiruttu Payale 2 last year. It even had a middling business at the box office. In an interview with a Tamil Magazine, she said, “Kollywood allots big budget only for commercial films. Bollywood film industry is straightforward that way. When compared to Bollywood, Kollywood is fake. They keep churning out the same films. Times have changed but our industry has not kept up with it. We need to support good films. But, here, they support only mass films. In that sense, if a leading hero had done Thiruttu Payale 2, then it would have been a box office success. The film did not have commercial elements. If it had more commercial aspects, then it could have been celebrated more.”

The actress has been busy in the shoot of Aadai, directed by Rathna Kumar of Meyaadha Maan fame. A stir was created by the first look of this film on social media. She appeared to be bruised and hurt in the posters.
