Amitabh Bachchan's request to Mamata Banerjee: Not to invite him to KIFF again

Amitabh Bachchan has been constantly called for the inauguration of Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF). However, for some reason the “jamaibabu (son-in-law)” of Bengal does not want to get invited for the inauguration of the festival this time.

Amitabh Bachchan could be seen joking around about the subject in a video as well. In the video, Amitabh is seen pleading with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee not to invite him anymore.
As the audience burst into laughs, the actor said, “I requested the chief minister several times not to invite me. I have nothing new to say anymore. But she does not listen, so I had to come back. I have made this request several times, but in English. Now, I'm saying it in Bangla. Mamata di, I hope you understand this time. I can't do it anymore. Please spare me!” in flawless Bangla.

But, Mamata was not going to let him go so easily, she took it on herself and stood fixed to her decision on calling him for the inauguration of the festival this time as well. During her speech, she said, “Let me say Bachchanji you have to come next year again as it will be the 25th year of KIFF.”
